An Act of Parliament to provide for the safety, health and welfare of workers and all persons lawfully present at workplaces, to provide for the establishment of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health and for connected purposes

Part I – PRELIMINARY

1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007.

2. Interpretation

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—air pollution” means air contaminated by substances whatever their physical state, which are harmful to health or otherwise dangerous;article for use at work” means—(a)any plant designed for use or operation (whether exclusively or not) by persons at a workplace; and(b)any article designed for use as a component in such plant;biological monitoring” means a planned programme of periodic co…
