An Act of Parliament to provide for the development, management, marketing and regulation of sustainable tourism and tourism-related activities and services, and for connected purposes

Part I – PRELIMINARY

1. Short title.

This Act may be cited as the Tourism Act, 2011.

2. Interpretation.

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—"Authority" means the Tourism Regulatory Authority established by section 4;"authorized officer" means a person appointed by section 115 of this Act;"College" means the Kenya Utalii College established by section 17 of this Act;"Council" means the Council of the Kenya Utalii College established by section 20 of this Act;"ecotourism" means responsible travel to natural areas to view the ﬂora and fauna without disturbance to the economical, ecological and cultural status of the areas;"environmental impact assessment" means…
