AN ACT of Parliament to repeal the Provident Fund Act; and for connected purposes

1. Short title.

This Act may be cited as the Provident Fund (Repeal) Act, 2022.

2. Interpretation.

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—“Cabinet Secretary” means the Cabinet Secretary responsible for matters relating to the finance; and“repealed Act” means the Provident Fund Act (Cap. 191).

3. Repeal of Cap. 191.

The Provident Fund Act is repealed.

4. Transitional provisions.

Notwithstanding section 3 —
(a)the Cabinet Secretary shall, before the winding up of the Fund, ascertain the status of claims against the Fund and, ensure that any outstanding claims are settled within one year of the coming into operation of this Act;
