1. These Rules may be cited as the Public Health (Importation of Meat) Rules.2. In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires—"authorized officer" means a health officer as defined in the Public Health (Port, Airport and Frontier) Rules;"competent authority" means an authority having power under the laws in force in any country to examine articles of food and to certify as to their fitness for human consumption;"importer" means any person who brings any meat or meat products or causes any meat or meat products to be brought into Kenya, whether as owner or as a person for the time being possessed of or beneficially interested in the meat or meat products, and “import” shal…
