1. These Rules may be cited as the Traffic (Speed Limits) Rules, 1975, and shall come into operation on the 1st June, 1975.1A. In these Rules unless the context otherwise requires—“speed camera” means a special gadget that calculates the time taken by a vehicle to travel over a set distance to work out the speed.2. The speeds set forth in the second column of the Schedule to these Rules shall, for the purposes of subsection (1) of section 42 of the Act, be the maximum speeds for the respective classes of vehicles set forth in the first column of the said Schedule.3.
