An Act to establish the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria for forestry research, education and training in Nigeria; and for related matters.

Part I – ESTABLISHMENT OF THE FORESTRY RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF NIGERIA

1. Establishment of Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria

(1)There is established the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (in this Act referred to as "the Institute").
(2)The Institute:
(a)is a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal which shall be kept in such custody as the Institute may authorise;
(b)may sue and be sued in its corporate name; and
(c)may hold, acquire and dispose of any property, moveable or immovable, in carrying out its duties.
