AN ACT TO REPEAL THE NIGERIAN METEOROLOGICAL AGENCY (ESTABLISHMENT ETC.) ACT NO. 9, 2003 AND ENACT THE NIGERIAN METEOROLOGICAL AGENCY (ESTABLISHMENT) ACT, 2022, TO PROVIDE FOR THE REGULATION OF METEOROLOGY ; AND FOR RELATED MATTERS.

Part I - ESTABLISHMENT OF THE NIGERIAN METEOROLOGICAL AGENCY

1. Establishment of Nigerian Meteorological Agency

(1)There is established the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (in this Act referred to as “the Agency”).

(2)The Agency

(a)shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal ;

(b)may sue or be sued in its corporate name ; and

(c)may acquire, hold, purchase, mortgage and deal howsoever with property, movable or immovable, real or personal, subject to the provisions of the Land Use Act.
