AN ACT TO ALTER THE CONSTITUTION OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, 1999 TO PROVIDE FOR THE FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE OF STATE HOUSES OF ASSEMBLY AND STATE JUDICIARY ; AND FOR RELATED MATTERS.ENACTED BY THE National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

1. Alteration of the Constitution

The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (in this Act referred to as “the Principal Act”) is altered as set out in this Act.

2. Alteration of section 121

Section 121 of the Principal Act is altered by

(a)substituting for subsection (3), a new subsection “(3)”-

“(3) Any amount standing to the credit of(a) a House of Assembly of a State in the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the State shall be paid directly into the account of the Assembly ; and(b) the Judiciary of a Sta…
