In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 12(4) of the Legal Practitioners Act Cap. L 11 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 as amended, and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, the General Council of the Bar ("Bar Council") makes the following Rules -

CONDUCT

Part 1 – PRACTICE AS A LEGAL PRACTITIONER

1. General responsibility of a lawyer.

A lawyer shall uphold and observe the rule of law, promote, and foster the course of justice, maintain a high standard of professional conduct, and shall not engage in any conduct which is unbecoming of a legal practitioner.
