An Act to upgrade teacher training colleges to tertiary education institutions to be known as colleges of education and to provide for related matters.PASSED by Parliament and assented to by the President:

Establishment, aims and functions

1. Establishment of colleges of education

(1)There is established by this Act bodies corporate with perpetual succession to be known as colleges of education specified in the Schedule.

(2)Where there is a hindrance to the acquisition of propert by a college of education, the property may be acquired for the college of education concerned under Property and Contracts Act 1960 (C.A.6) or the State Lands Act, 1962 (Act 125) and the cost shall be borne by that college.
