An Act of Parliament to confer on the Court of Appeal jurisdiction to hear appeals from the High Court and for purposes incidental thereto.

1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Appellate Jurisdiction Act.

2. Interpretation

In this Actβ€”"judgment" includes decree, order, sentence and decision;"the Court of Appeal" means the Court of Appeal established by section 64(1) of the Constitution;"the Court of Appeal Rules" means the Court of Appeal for East Africa Rules, 1972 (L.N. 199/1972), as amended up to and in force on 1st June, 1977;"the Old Court of Appeal" means the Court of Appeal for East Africa, referred to in section 17 of the Treaty for East African Co-operation Act (Cap.4), or any Court replaced by that Court.
