An Act of Parliament to provide for the regulation of the production, sale and consumption of alcoholic drinks, to repeal the Chang’aa Prohibition Act, the Liquor Licensing Act and for connected purposes.

Part I – PRELIMINARY

1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Alcoholic Drinks Control Act, 2010.

2. Interpretation

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requiresβ€”β€œAccounting Officer” means the accounting officer of the relevant agency;β€œalcohol” means the product known as ethyl alcohol or any product obtained by fermentation or distillation of any fermented alcoholic product, rectified either once or more often, whatever the origin, and shall include synthetic ethyl alcohol, but shall not include methyl alcohol and alcohol completely denatured in accordance with the prescribed formulas;β€œalcoholic drink…
