AN ACT of Parliament to provide for the registration and licencing of building surveyors, to regulate their practice and for connected purposes.

Part I – PRELIMINARY

1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Building Surveyors Act, 2018.

2. Interpretation

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—"Board" means the Building Surveyors Registration Board established under section 3;"building maintenance" means work undertaken in order to keep, restore or improve a facility or a part of the building, its services and surroundings to a currently acceptable standard and to sustain the utility and value of the facility and includes inspection, testing, servicing, classification to serviceability, repair, refurbishment, rebuilding, rehabilitation, reclamation, preparation of costed maintenance schedules, plannin…
