1. Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (International Safety Management (ISM) Code) Regulations and shall be deemed to have come into effect on the date as the Cabinet Secretary may, by notice in the Gazette, appoint.

2. Interpretation

(1)In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires—"anniversary date" means the day and month of each year that corresponds to the date of expiry of the relevant document or certificate;"audit" means a systematic and independent examination to determine whether the safety management system is suitable to meet the objectives set out in section 1 of the Code, and, so far as the system has been operated, that the system has …
