Account & Security

Set up your account, manage your profile, and secure your account with two-factor authentication.

Creating Your Account

Registration

To create a judy.legal account:

  1. Click Sign Up on the homepage
  2. Enter your details:
    • First name and last name
    • Email address
    • Password
    • Country
  3. Accept the terms and conditions
  4. Click Create Account

You'll receive a welcome email confirming your registration.

Social Sign-Up

You can also register using:

  • Google: Click "Continue with Google" and authorize access
  • Apple: Click "Continue with Apple" and authorize access

When using social sign-up, we'll ask you to complete your profile with any missing information.

Logging In

Email & Password

  1. Go to the login page
  2. Enter your email and password
  3. Click Log In

Social Login

Click "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Apple" to log in with your social account.

Forgot Password?

  1. Click Forgot password? on the login page
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Check your email for a reset link
  4. Click the link and set a new password

Managing Your Profile

Access your profile settings from the account menu in the top navigation.

Profile Information

You can update:

  • Profile photo: Upload a square image (recommended 1000px+, JPG or PNG)
  • Name: Your first and last name
  • Email address: Your login email (may be restricted if 2FA is enabled)
  • Phone number: For account recovery and SMS notifications
  • Date of birth: Optional
  • Introduction: A short bio (max 160 characters) shown on your profile
  • Bio: A longer description shown on your profile

Primary Database

Select your primary country database. This affects:

  • Default search results
  • Content recommendations
  • Currency for billing

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Add an extra layer of security to your account with two-factor authentication.

Why Use 2FA?

Two-factor authentication requires both your password AND a verification code to log in. Even if someone knows your password, they can't access your account without the second factor.

Setting Up 2FA

  1. Go to Account SettingsTwo-Factor Authentication
  2. Enter your password to confirm your identity
  3. Choose your preferred method:

Email Verification

  • Codes are sent to your registered email
  • Best for: Users who always have email access

SMS Verification

  • Codes are sent via text message to your phone
  • Best for: Users who prefer mobile verification
  • Requires a valid phone number

Authenticator App

  • Use apps like Google Authenticator or Authy
  • Generates time-based codes
  • Best for: Maximum security

Using 2FA

Once enabled, when you log in:

  1. Enter your email and password
  2. You'll be prompted for a 6-digit verification code
  3. Enter the code from your email, SMS, or authenticator app
  4. Click Verify to complete login

Disabling 2FA

  1. Go to Account SettingsTwo-Factor Authentication
  2. Enter your password
  3. Click Disable Two-Factor Authentication

Note: Your organization may require 2FA. In this case, you cannot disable it.

Connected Accounts

Link your social accounts for easier login.

Google Account

  1. Go to Account SettingsConnected Accounts
  2. Click Connect next to Google
  3. Sign in with your Google account
  4. Your accounts are now linked

To disconnect:

  1. Click Disconnect next to your connected Google account
  2. Confirm the disconnection

Benefits of Connected Accounts

  • Faster login: One click to sign in
  • Account recovery: Additional way to verify your identity
  • Profile sync: Keep your profile photo updated

Password Management

Changing Your Password

  1. Go to Account Settings
  2. Expand Change Password
  3. Enter your current password
  4. Enter your new password (minimum 8 characters)
  5. Confirm your new password
  6. Click Change Password

Password Requirements

  • Minimum 8 characters
  • We recommend using a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols
  • Don't reuse passwords from other sites

Security Tips

  1. Use a strong, unique password for your judy.legal account
  2. Enable two-factor authentication for maximum security
  3. Keep your email secure - it's used for password resets
  4. Log out on shared devices - don't stay logged in on public computers
  5. Review connected accounts periodically and remove any you don't use
